NEW 2-AXIS DELECTION UNIT
Wessling, March 13th, 2013– RAYLASE AG, the world’s leading manufacturer of high-precision components and submodules for laser beam deflection, modulation and control, today announced the SUPERSCAN-II Enhanced, the company’s latest model in the well-known SUPERSCAN-II series. It provides significantly reduced drift and considerably lower noise levels.
The SUPERSCAN-II Enhanced has been developed specially for high-end applications that require low noise at high speeds. As a result, the SUPERSCAN-II Enhanced can be utilized for processes such as ITO structuring, which is used during the manufacture of smartphones.
The SUPERSCAN-II Enhanced 2-axis laser deflection unit provides significantly improved drift performance and a considerable reduction in noise levels. This makes the SUPERSCAN-II Enhanced the optimal solution for high-end laser applications such as ITO structuring, used in the production of today’s smartphones.
The SUPERSCAN-II enhanced achieves long-term drift of less than 150 µrad over a period of 8 hours without water cooling. This is a significant improvement on the SUPERSCAN-II, which already produces very good results at less than 300 µrad. In terms of long-term drift over 24 hours for the water-cooled variant, the SUPERSCAN-II Enhanced achieves drift levels of less than 100 µrad. This is even lower than RAYLASE’s top-of-the-range model in the SUPERSCAN-II series, the water-cooled LD variant, beating its performance by 50%.
The dynamic performance of the SUPERSCAN-II Enhanced is especially impressive. With a 15mm aperture, the SUPERSCAN-II Enhanced delivers write speeds of at least 615 characters per second. Its positioning speed is 9 m/s. This dynamic performance, which is achieved with high-speed tuning and beryllium mirrors, makes the SUPERSCAN-II Enhanced the ideal deflection head for high-end applications like ITO structuring, which requires very fast deflection together with minimal noise and drift.
The new SUPERSCAN-II Enhanced is currently available for a 15mm aperture in Y and DY wavelengths. With its customized service offering, RAYLASE can make other wavelengths available on demand. The deflection unit is compatible with the XY2-100 standard and includes both analog and digital control.
